The HaloRC Pandora V2 is our latest and most advanced naked Inspire 2 camera system, completely redesigned from the ground up. We’ve made significant improvements over the original Pandora, including a 35% weight reduction (over 300g lighter), a more compact form factor, and a dramatically improved cooling system.
The biggest breakthrough is the removal of the Upward Gimbal Mount requirement. The Pandora V2 now allows you to easily switch between top and bottom-mounted gimbal setups with a simple software modification. This, along with other design efficiencies, has allowed us to reduce the price by over 30%.
The Pandora V2 is the perfect solution for car-to-car tracking. Its lightweight and compact design makes it safe and easy to mount on a vehicle, while the camera's mechanical stabilization ensures your footage remains silky smooth.
We've rigorously tested the Pandora V2 using a Delkin Fat Gecko suction mount. This setup provides more than enough support for the camera at speeds exceeding 80 mph, giving you the confidence to capture high-speed action shots. The Pandora V2 is compatible with both the X5S and X7 gimbals, offering a range of options for capturing cinema-grade footage.
Mounting the Pandora V2 is simple and intuitive. The main mounting plate features 1/4-20 threads, making it easy to attach to a wide range of camera mounts. For even more flexibility, you can remove the 1/4-20 threads and attach a cheese plate, giving you endless possibilities for rigging.
We've also added 1/4-20 threads to one side of the camera. These are designed for mounting accessories like your battery, or for any future add-ons, ensuring your setup is always ready for the next shot.
During development, we found that gimbal drift on the roll axis could be an issue during long tracking shots. We've solved this problem by integrating the original Inspire 2 GPS and compass module. This clever solution ensures your footage remains perfectly level and stable, no matter the duration of the shot.
While not everyone will need this additional component, it is highly recommended for anyone planning to use the camera for car-to-car tracking or other long-duration shots. All our 'Ready to Film' and 'Conversion' Pandora V2 systems come with the module pre-installed. The 'DIY Kit' also includes all the necessary parts for you to install it yourself.
Efficient cooling was a major focus in the Pandora V2's design. We’ve positioned the Inspire 2 brain on its side to channel fresh air directly through the camera's core components. The air is then exhausted out the rear grill.
The intake fan on the Pandora V2 is double the size of the original, and we've upgraded to Noctua fans for the quietest operation and minimal vibrations. These high-performance fans provide superior cooling without the noise, which is crucial for professional filmmaking. You can even use the front intake fan to cool the system down between takes without powering up the main system.
