Gear Overview
The HaloRC Pandora CTRL is our purpose built "NAKED" DJI Inspire 2 Controller. We have stripped away the physical sticks, dials, and buttons, replacing them with our custom PCB that directly emulates all hardware inputs. This transforms the bulky controller into a dedicated, compact ground station engineered for high-gain patch and polarized antennas, unlocking vastly superior range and RF penetration.
With an onboard MasterLink system, the Pandora CTRL delivers complete gimbal and camera control for the Pandora V1/V2 (or any Inspire 2 camera) without needing a secondary DJI Slave controller. Simply bind your preferred radio transmitter over ExpressLRS or TBS Crossfire to route controls directly via the CAN bus interface.
By allowing you to run matched antenna polarizations, such as LHCP, between the ground station and camera, the Pandora CTRL removes the stock system bottlenecks and unlocks the true potential of your setup. The standard Inspire 2 controller locks you into using dipole antennas, which forces you into using dipoles on the camera end to avoid the costly 3dB penalty from mixed polarization. The Pandora CTRL solves this RF bottleneck by giving you full freedom of antenna choice.
Pair your Pandora camera (V1/V2) with matching circular polarized antennas for superior multipath rejection, or mount high-gain directional patches to the ground station aimed directly at your operating area for maximum range and penetration through complex obstacles.
The onboard MasterLink gives you comprehensive control of the gimbal movement and functionality without the need of a slave controller. Beyond the precise 3-axis gimbal movement, you get direct access to FIZ settings to provide Manual-Focus and Iris Control. Auto-Focus can be triggered and the position of it can also be controlled.
Critical operator functions such as gimbal recentre, start/stop record and capturing photos can all be triggered and mapped through the Pandora CTRL, ready to ensure you never miss a shot.
We recommend using ExpressLRS for the lowest latency and ease of setup, but we are pleased to offer our pre built Pandora CTRL with either ELRS or TBS Crossfire fitted.
Designed specifically for real-world production rigs, the Pandora CTRL enclosure incorporates multiple 1/4"-20 threaded mounting points.
The base adapts cleanly to standard quick-release tripod mounts, while the top accommodates the original DJI mounting bracket for the CrystalSky monitors or the phone/tablet bracket. Users can also use many other mounting options, such as a NATO rail for mounting a HDMI monitor.
We have retained the original internal DJI battery for hours of continuous field operation, which charges normally using the standard DJI controller charging cable.
When integrated with a separate video transmitter like the DJI SDR, the Pandora CTRL becomes a long-range relay ground station. Position the ground station close to the flight line to maintain full signal strength, and the lowest latency link to the camera via high-gain antennas.
Your long-range control link routes in over ELRS or Crossfire, while the SDR manages the video link back to your monitors, delivering an ultra-stable feed and precise camera control far beyond standard factory limits.
Setting up and fine-tuning the system is straightforward using our companion app for iOS and Android. Easily map control axes and functions to your transmitter channels, or invert any gimbal axis with a single tap when switching between top and bottom mount camera configurations.
Because the Pandora CTRL digitally emulates the original controller's hardware, the app includes a quick one-time calibration routine alongside a live channel monitor for instant visual verification on the bench.
